What is Christianity:
Christianity is a religion practiced throughout the world and makes up around 70% of the American population. Christians primarily focus on the teachings of Jesus Christ, whom they believe to be the son of God. Christians are monotheistic, meaning they believe in only one God. Christians follow The Bible as their holy book, which is broken up into two testaments. The old testament pertains to everything before Jesus and is also used in Judaism. The new testament is from the time of Jesus and onward. Christians live their lives based on the 10 Commandments which are.

About Jesus:
Jesus Christ is known as the prophetic Son of God through all Christian practices. He is said to have lived around 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem, a town in the area now called Palestine while it was occupied by the Roman Empire. Jesus was Jewish and therefore, much of Christian practice stems from Jewish teachings. Jesus was known for preaching equality, justice, pacifism, and love. He spoke as a preacher for approximately three years before being charged with treason and sentenced to death by crucifixion. Christians believe that three days after he was crucified, Jesus rose from the dead, proving that he was the son of God.
The story of Jesus is told in the New Testament of the Bible. It is portrayed in the four Gospels, those of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John. The Gospels were written around 70 years after the death of Jesus.
