Orthodox Judaism is a term for the more traditional sects of Judaism. Orthodox Jews believe in a strict interpretation of the Torah and believe it as the direct word of God. They observe strict adherence to the Jewish law or Halakah. Orthodoxy centers around obeying the Sabbath, and following the dietary, purity and ethical laws of Halakha. Orthodoxy is not a centralized denomination. There are many subgroups.
